Dan began his journey into the world of cheese in 2013 and has worked in many facets of the cheese industry since, including retail cheese counters, advocacy, and wholesale distribution. As a Certified Cheese Professional (CCP) recognized by the American Cheese Society, Dan is passionate about championing small producers of artisanal cheese and cured meat from the US and abroad. Coming a long way from his days of only enjoying sliced cheddar and American "cheese", Dan's tastes have evolved and he's sure to have something to suit your palate at our cheese counter — whether you seek the familiar and comforting or crave something outside your usual picks!

A prominent figure in the wine and beverage industry, Howie boasts a nearly five-decade career. In 1975, he co-founded The London Wine Bar in San Francisco, USA's first wine bar, introducing the concept of serving wines by the glass. His diverse career roles include a field laborer at Mayacamas Vineyards in Napa Valley, a standout Sommelier at The Breakers Hotel in West Palm Beach while achieving his tastevin certification in record time, a 43-year tenure as the General Manager at Bauer Wine & Spirits in Boston, and as the wine purchasing agent for esteemed wine connoisseurs including the Cabot, Coolidge, Spaulding, and Forbes families. Howie's ongoing global exploration of wine regions and his engaging presence as a wine expert on WFNX 101.7FM in the 1990s further showcase his extensive knowledge and culinary expertise.
